With over 40 years experience, I have been teaching Latin in schools and providing private one-to-one tuition. My focus is on strengthening students’ understanding of Latin grammar, comprehension, and exam techniques while ensuring an enjoyable learning experience.

 

I specialise in tutoring students from Years 10-18, covering beginners, Common Entrance (11+ and 13+), GCSE, and A level. Familiar with OCR exam board, I guide students with an encouragement-based approach, rewarding progress with praise. My students have consistently improved their grades, and my students have a 100% success rate.

My students enjoy coming to my home in central Cambridge, and I also teach effectively over Facetime or Microsoft Teams, which has has proved to be a wonderful way to make tutoring more accessible.

I have a MA from St Andrews in Latin and French, I hold an FAETC (Further and Adult Teaching Certificate) and I am a Member of MITI (The Institute of Translation and Interpreting). I hold a DBS certificate.
